From the
heart of Brianza, to the intimate and refined atmosphere of ARCHITECT@WORK
Milano: Enrico Colombo, a dynamic and versatile reality in the field of
wood panels manufacturing and supply for furniture, will present its collection
during the architecture and construction professionals networking event.
Always
attentive to the selection and quality of raw materials, Enrico Colombo chose
to renew its presence at ARCHITECT@WORK, fully espousing this year's theme 'Fab
Futures - emerging languages for future generations.
“Beauty
in the future is a concept we aim to bring into each of our creations. We work every
day to create products with sophisticated and green designs. For us, the
product durability is a fundamental value, that’s why some of the materials we use
derived from recycling processes”, says Massimo Orsenigo, who leads
Enrico Colombo together with its brother Maurizio.
The theme of
beauty and well-being for the next generations fits perfectly with the
exclusive novelty signed by Enrico Colombo, which will be presented during
ARCHITECT@WORK: the “Origami Essenza e Anima” panel, a creation of
modular elements made of real wood slabs bent and supported with different
thicknesses.
The
inspiration for this project comes precisely from the ancient Japanese art
'origami,' a word composed of the terms 'Oru' (to fold) and 'Kami' (paper),
which together literally mean 'folding paper,' but also 'folded object’. Hence
the idea of creating a product that take up this technique: a veneer of wood of
any essence folded as if it were paper, which maintains its texture and all the
color and shading effects.
Origami by Enrico Colombo features profiles with
depths up to 22 mm with surprising volumetric effects, as well as modularities
designed to cover medium and large surfaces. Therefore, it is ideal for
paneling and doors, cabinet doors and ceilings; it is also equipped with MDF
supports for wall anchoring.
This novelty
originality also comes from the great possibility of customization, as it is
available in two finished faces with a single profile, and from the double
negative and positive use; the grain direction can be vertical or horizontal;
the finish can be rough or primed; veneer and profile’s design can be tailored
to the customer's preferences.
Origami Essenza e Anima is a demonstration of how from the simplest and
most natural materials, such as wood, the most beautiful things can arise, maintaining
their soul intact. On this occasion, visitors will have the opportunity to
touch and discover closely the new products designed by Enrico Colombo, they
will be guided along a path that expertly combines aesthetics and
functionality, from which they may draw inspiration for their own furniture
projects.
