Such an event hasn’t been seen in Rome since 2018, when ARCHITECT@WORK last showcased the best in furniture architecture and design and construction in the capital.
But it's hard to part with beautiful things. So, this renowned event returns to Fiera Roma from 12th to 13th June 2024, after the great success in Milan.
The theme remains the same: “FAB FUTURES – Linguaggi emergenti per le generazioni future”, promising an exclusive event that will provide industry professionals with valuable insights to enhance their appeal and showcase their creativity to the world - focusing on the latest trends and innovations.
This is undeniably a significant moment of revival for Italian and global architecture and craftsmanship. Enrico Colombo, a dynamic and creative company manufacturing and supplying furniture wood panels, as well as the Italian distributor of LATHO components, will attend this event. During ARCHITECT@WORK, the Cesano Maderno-based company will present the latest addition to its PressWood collection, "Paglia di Vienna," a name and design that pay homage to the iconic material.
Traditionally crafted from cane, cut into long, thin strips of varying widths and woven into durable and aesthetically pleasing "fabrics," Paglia di Vienna has been used in seating and small accessories, and furniture and divider coverings. Now, thanks to the creativity and expertise of the Enrico Colombo team, it finds a new and innovative application: a wooden decoration destined to become iconic.
Massimo and Maurizio Orsenigo, at the helm of the company, explain why they chose to present their "Paglia di Vienna" at ARCHITECT@WORK. “Alongside the wonderful opportunity to present a new product directly to the most skilled minds in design at Fiera Roma, we need to create a bridge between past and future, between old and new generations. Our focus is on what we do best: reviving an iconic, elegant and refined finish to create an exclusive design that perfectly balances vintage and modern. "Paglia di Vienna" has always been synonymous with great elasticity, durability and aesthetics. These qualities have been transferred to Enrico Colombo’s pressed wood panels, with smooth and clean lines, perfect for creating exclusive design objects that enrich both vintage-inspired and modern environments.
"Paglia di Vienna" will be available in 12/10 mm veneer and panel form - thanks to the PressWood technique - in 125x300 cm formats with finishes in oak, canaletto walnut and eucalyptus. Industry professionals will have the opportunity to see and test these variants firsthand at ARCHITECT@WORK from 12th to 13th June 2024 at Fiera Roma, drawing inspiration for their innovative and refined Interior and Exterior design solutions. After all, its geometric woven pattern exudes elegance and beauty, sure to be evocative.
